  • Dr Rochus Urban Hinkel

    Dr Rochus Hinkel is Associate Professor for Architecture and Design at the Melbourne School of Design (MSD) and co-director of the Advanced Digital Design + Fabrication (ADD+F) research hub at the ABP Faculty at the University of Melbourne. His research and practice use digital and analogue technologies to create novel narratives, that manifest through artefacts, spatial installations, and immersive environments. Rochus is a trained, furniture and interior designer with a MA and PhD in architecture. He was the inaugural recipient of The UniSA, SIDA and DRF Curatorial Research Fellowship (2020-2022).

  • Melissa Iraheta

    Melissa Iraheta is a multidisciplinary designer, most known for her design work specialising in sculptural digital crafting, fabrication techniques, immersive video and XR installations. She currently works at the intersection of architecture and digital storytelling and investigates its shared experiential ground. Melissa has produced, contributed and exhibited work at numerous occasions. She led projects and Research & Development at Studio Roland Snooks as well as Fologram. Melissa studied architecture at RMIT University and is currently the New Experimental Technology Coordinator at the Melbourne School of Design, The University of Melbourne.

  • Tony Yu

    Tony Yu is a digital designer who develops new techniques, workflows, training and workshops around digital fabrication, digital reconstruction, extended reality, and digital representation. He has a specific interest in human-computer interaction and mixed reality environments. One of his current research projects explores more-than-human interspecies design through urban lighting case studies. Developed together with the Deep Design Lab, this project speculates on participatory design frameworks supported by mixed reality design tools. Tony is a trained architect, educator and currently lead technician at the New Experimental Technologies Lab at the Melbourne School of Design, The University of Melbourne.

    All works are conceived in collaboration with experts and friends, including composers and fabricators, ethnographers and philosophers, makers, artists and architects.
